Rotterdam International Art Fair 2016 (9-10 September)
NEARLY 4000 people passed through the doors of the Laurenskerk in Rotterdam last weekend to visit the second Rotterdam International Art Fair by Global Art Agency – one of the fastest growing platforms for contemporary art.
Frank Migchielsen, Director of De Laurenskerk commented: "Once again it’s been an amazing event! Modern art in a mediaeval church with twinkling chandeliers was a very exciting combination, even more than I expected. We were very proud to have 200 exhibitors from over 30 countries here exhibiting at the Art Fair. We had no doubt it would be another success and that it would attract a large audience. With compliments for the professional organisation!”
“We’ve had a great exhibition” said Sem Versluis who represented the "Spudsfirst", “speaking with thousands of people over the weekend, very interesting conversations, and we are looking forward to what the connections made will bring in the near future”.
“It’s been a fantastic weekend,” agreed Johanne Vallée and Pierrick Her from 'Mondial Art Academy', who represent contemporary artists from around the world. "We were happy to sell art, one priced at € 3000, and have many queries on other works. It was a great success!"
"We've had the pleasure of radio, tv and newspaper attending the opening" said organiser Joëlle Dinnage. "Press from all around the world attended the event, even from as far as China. And we were happy to see sales happing of art pieces priced at a substantial amount."
The Dutch AD Newspaper reviewed the fair as to be "one of the most interesting art fairs around" thanks to the fresh concept of engaging with the artist directly in a superb venue with an amazing atmosphere that is buzzing with positive vibes.
Visitors were able to vote for their favourite artist at the event and the winners were announced at the Global Art Awards Ceremony on Saturday afternoon.
